Fast start for the Dutch rider of Alé - Cipollini, an Individual Time Trial specialist and former Junior World Champion at Doha 2016, who classified third today in the prologue in Campi Bisenzio (Florence), which opened the Giro di Toscana - Memorial Michela Fanini 2019. Karlijn Swinkels rode the 2,200 meters of the route in 2’59’‘, only 4 seconds more than the stage winner Arlenis Sierra. Second place for the Russian Maria Novolodskaia for a few cents. Chloe Hosking did also a great performance with her 9th place with the time of 3’02’‘. then the 18th place by the last race winner Soraya Paladin. Karlijn Swinkels, at her very first podium in an ITT in the UCI Elite Category (She already won the stage 1 of the Vuelta a Burgos last spring), took also the Green Jersey.

Tomorrow there is the first of the two road stages, 136 kms from and to Segromigno in Piano, with the two passages on the climb to Segromigno in Monte: The last on the top is at just 5 kms from the finish.
