Alè - Cipollini performed very well in the second and ending day of the English race, with two athletes in the top 10: Ane Santesteban Gonzalez and Janneke Ensing, 5th and 10th on the uphill finish in Ilkley. The Basque #YellowFluoOrange athlete has been also part of the breakaway of the stage, characterized by a very hilly route and two short. categorized climbs in the final 10 kms. The race has become decisive on the final climb, 1.8 kms at 8.2% average, where the American Megan Guarnier attacked to take a solo win in the stage and in the General Classification. The climb was steep so the selection has been natural: the peloton with Ane arrives 22’’ after Guarnier, and Janneke reached the finish line after 50’‘. Santesteban ends with 33’’ in 6th place in the GC, where Ensing keeps the 10th place with 1’01’’ delay.

“Perfect, exemplary work.” - declared the Team Manager Fortunato Lacquaniti - “The team could manage the stage very well today, everyone has done their own work.”

There is something to celebrate today in the Ale’ - Cipollini team, we all wish a very happy birthday to Soraya Paladin!
