THE PREPARATION FOR THE SECOND PART OF THE SEASON GOES ON IN VERONA
The first serie of Summer races for the Team Alè - Cipollini has come to an end with the participation at the Prudential Ridelondon Classique: the team is now in Verona for a trainingcamp to prepare the next appointments. The athletes are being followed by the full staff and the club direction on the roads around the Lake Garda and on the hills and country next to Verona.
“It’s time to think about the next races and it’s the right moment to have the team here. The next races will be very important, not to underestimate” - said the Team Manager Fortunato Lacquaniti. The President Alessia Piccolo continues: “We are very happy to stay with the team here, the athletes have always been very professional in every past race done. We are all very proud, now let’s look forward to reach the next targets.”
Marta Bastianelli and Soraya Paladin have been selected by the Italian Coach Edoardo Salvoldi to participate at the road race of the European Championships of Sunday 5th August in Glasgow (Scotland). The Team Alè - Cipollini will race from the 11th to 13th in Vårgårda (Sweden) in the Team Time Trial and the road race, both valid for the Women’s World Tour, to stay in Scandinavia to participate at the Ladies Tour of Norway between the 16th and 19th August, valid as well for the UCI Women’s World Tour.
Alè - Cipollini is 5th in the Overall UCI Team Ranking with 2830 points, just 27 away from the Cervelo - Bigla in place 4. Chloe Hosking and Marta Bastianelli are respectively 8th and 12th in the Individual UCI Ranking.
