EXTRAORDINARY DOUBLE WIN FOR SORAYA PALADIN IN TUSCANY

The athlete from Cimadolmo (Treviso) has won the final stage (Lucca - Capannori, 121.8 kms) and the General Classification of the Premondiale Giro della Toscana - Memorial Michela Fanini 2018. Soraya Paladin arrived all alone with 28’’ of gap from Maria Giulia Confalonieri and 44’’ from Elena Franchi. The peloton sprinted 1’34’’ later and the Spanish Ane Santesteban Gonzalez ended in 10th place.

The Japanese Mayuko Hagiwara, due to a breakaway with a small peloton at 40 kms from the finish. The climb of Valgiano (done twice) has been decisive, being very close to the finish: on its second passage Soraya Paladin could find the final attack which permitted her to celebrate the double win.

Maria Giulia Confalonieri (2nd with 30’‘) and the Ukrainian Tatyana Riabchenko (3rd with 1’30’‘) completed the overall podium. Ane Santesteban Gonzalez is 9th in the GC with 1’53’‘. The Giro Della Toscana - Memorial Michela Fanini is back to an italian athlete since the win of Noemi Cantele in 2007.
