THE #YELLOWFLUOORANGE LINE-UP IS READY FOR THE BOELS LADIES TOUR 2018
The Women’s Tour of the Netherlands (named Boels Ladies Tour due to sponsorization) starts tomorrow, Tuesday 28th August, with a prologue in Arnhem, in the Gelderland Province.
The team, directed by Fortunato Lacquaniti, will try to repeat on the Dutch roads another great perfomance like last Saturday in Plouay (France), where Soraya Paladin attacked at the final kilometers, to be taken just a few meters from the finish line. Marta Bastianelli will be back to race for this event, after her debut as new European Champion in Sweden. The Italian star from Rome will lead the line-up with the Commonwealth Games 2018 Gold Medal in the Road Race Chloe Hosking; Anna Trevisi from Italy and the three Dutch riders Janneke Ensing, Roxane Knetemann and Karlijn Swinkels complete the full line-up.
After the prologue tomorrow in Arnhem, the Boels Ladies Tour continues with the first road stage of 135 kms (start and finish are in Nijmegen) and the following stage is taking place on Thursday in Gennep for another 126.3 kms. The fourth day is developed on 132.6 kms from Stamproy to Weert: we are at the border with Belgium and the final three laps of the stage have short, tough climbs. The queen stage (and the longest one, with about 160 kms) takes place is Sittard but everything can be decided on the final day with the Individual Time Trial of 18.5 kms in Roosendaal.
The Team Manager Fortunato Lacquaniti says the day before the start: “It is a tough Boels Tour, where not just the sprinters will try to fight for the GC: it is a very open race with different solutions and factors, to keep a high concentration.”
