TOP SEASON START FOR THE ALE' - CIPOLLINI TEAM
Seven wins overall (six internationals), numerous podiums and top 5 results: The season for the #yellowfluoorange team has started great with those astonishing numbers.
The year begins well due to the Chloe Hosking in Australia, where she took the win in the final stage of the Santos Women’s Tour Down Under in Adelaide and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. Marta Bastianelli launched the European series of win taking the stage 2 of the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana (Spain), where she has been race leader for one day. Janneke Ensing at the GP Le Samyn des Dames took the first success of the season in Belgium, attacking in the last cobblestoned sector before the finish, where Soraya Paladin ended fourth. The Women’s World Tour started with the Strade Bianche and Marta Bastianelli sprinted to win the Trofeo Oro in Euro in Montignoso the day after. This result is just a preview of what will happen a few weeks later, a true triumph in the Ghent - Wevelgem. The Team Ale’ - Cipollini started the year in 8th place of the General UCI Team Ranking: now it is sixth, overtaking big teams like Wiggle High 5 and Waowdeals. Chloe Hosking is 8th and Marta Bastianelli 13th in the individual general classification. In the Women’s World Tour Alè - Cipollini is 4th, just behind Mitchelton - Scott, in the Team Ranking, Marta Bastianelli and Chloe Hosking are respectively 5th and 7th in the individual.

The Season of the Classics is still not over: the team will be at the start of the Brabantse Pijl on Wednesday, 11th April, before the Ardennes Tryptic which includes the Amstel Gold Race, the Fleche Wallonne and the Liege- Bastogne - Liege.
