When someone thinks about the second Ardennes Classic race that will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 18th April, the first thought goes immediately on the Mur de Huy and its extremely hard slopes. In the Women’s Race, valid for the Women’s World Tour, this place is not only the classical finish after 118.5 kms but as well the start. The first part of La Fleche Wallonne, of 70.5 kms is hilly but without particular climbs, which begin at the entrance of the final circuit and its two laps including the Cote d’Ereffe, the Cote de Cherave and the final climb that reaches 20%.

The line-up that participated last Suday at the Amstel Gold Race has been confirmed: there are two Dutch Janneke Ensing and Roxane Knetemann, the Italians Anna Trevisi and Soraya Paladin, the Spanish Ane Santesteban Gonzalez, and the Japanese Mayuko Hagiwara. Fortunato Lacquaniti will direct the team from the car.

The #YellowFluoOrange Team Manager declared at the race eve: “The Amstel Gold Race has been hard for everyone but the Mur de Huy will make the final of the Fleche Wallonne harder. It will be very important to stay in the front at the begin of the climb and keep a high concentration. Who will feel better must give a try.”
