The athlete from Cimadolmo (Treviso) has been very close to the big result today in the Stage 8 of the Giro Rosa (San Giorgio di Perlena - Breganze, 126.2 kms), ending 23’’ behind the trio Marianne Vos (Stage winner), Elisa Longo Borghini (second) and Lucinda Brand (third). Just Giorgia Bronzini could beat Soraya in the sprint for the 4th place, but she has been able to sprint faster than other athletes like Maria Giulia Confalonieri and Elena Cecchini: a top level performance and sprint.

During the stage, on some the #YellowFluoOrange home roads, Chloe Hosking has also been one protagonist, as she was in a breakaway.

Ane Santesteban has gained one more position in the GC, 7’26’’ behind the Pink Jersey Annemiek Van Vleuten and tomorrow there is the uphill finish on the Monte Zoncolan in the Queen Stage: the hardest European climb is 10.1 kms long with 1200 meters of height difference, an average slope of 11.9%, highest 22%.

The Team Manager Fortunato Lacquaniti: “We have been big protagonists and the performance of the team was great again. The mental and physical condition on the Zoncolan will be important, its slopes are terrible and it’s fundamental to keep the lucidity”.
