ROMY KASPER AND KARLIJN SWINKELS RESIGN THEIR CONTRACTS
Particular day for Alè - Cipollini, that celebrates Chloe Hosking’s birthday and the contract renew of the two #YellowFluoOrange riders.
The German Romy Kasper is ready for her third season in the Italian team and she is very motivated to be back since her bad crash in the Women’s Tour last June. Her spring was at top level, especially in the Northern Classics, as she received a special prize in the Driedaagse Brugge - De Panne.
Romy commented: “I’m very happy to race for Alè - Cipollini for the third year. Thanks to the Team for helping me a lot to stay calm and think about my health after the crash. I’m back on my bike after 13 weeks and I am doing training to be ready at the beginning of 2019”.
From Germany to the Netherlands: Karlijn Swinkels has been one of the most active athletes of the team in 2018, with who started to race in January at the Santos Women’s Tour Down Under. Strong rouleur and still very young (she will become 20 the next 28th October), she gained a lot of experience in her second year as Elite cyclist since her World Title in the Junior Time Trial in Doha 2016. Her most important individual result is the 10th place in the final stage of the Healthy Ageing Tour in April. She took part at the Team Time Trial one week ago at the Road World Championships in Innsbruck where she has been as well a special commenter for the Dutch Television of the Women Road Race last Saturday, which was won by her compatriot Anna Van der Breggen.
Karlijn said: “The team has a lot of trust in myself and I am very happy. I’ve learned a lot this year and the atmosphere in the #YellowFluoOrange Team is awesome. I hope we continue on this line and make the needed steps next year”.
